AARP Tax Assistance In-Person
There is an intake form to pick up at the library to fill out and bring to your appointment. If you cannot make it to the library to pick up the intake form, please arrive 15 minutes early to fill it out. The library opens at 10am.
Please bring the following documentation to your appointment:
• Copies of both 2022 and 2023 income tax returns.
• Driver’s license or other government-issued photo ID.
• Social Security card for each taxpayer and each individual dependent.
• W2s (2024 income).
• 1099s (pensions, interest, dividends, IRAs, Social Security) and Unemployment form 1099 G to show the amount received in 2024 and any tax withheld.
• Brokerage statements – sale of stocks or bonds.
• Healthcare Form 1095-A if you have marketplace insurance.
• Mortgage interest, medical/dental expenses, charitable donations, sales, income or property taxes.
• Records of federal and state income taxes paid.
• Education expenses: College tuition form 1098-T for any tuition paid in 2024; student’s detailed financial school account; other education expenses.
• All 2024 records related to local (County, School, TOH, TONH, VNHP) real estate taxes (amounts paid, credits received, checks received for the STAR credit)
• Checking or savings account information for direct deposit of refund or direct debit of balance due.
• Any other recent IRS or state tax department correspondence.
